Therapy dogs have been specifically trained to have exceptionally good manners and obedience in all situations. They have a personal desire to interact with people. Our therapy dogs visit shut-ins in our community, those residing in assisted living, nursing, or hospice facilities, as well as children's hospitals. The unconditional love and attention these dogs provide help to take these folks back to a happier time and place, as well as encourage wonderful communication between the handler and the patients. Our handlers often say that the life perspectives they receive sharing their dog's love is their greatest reward.
